This week I visited the very impressive Googleplex in Silicon Valley, and all I came back with was a sticker.
I was fortunate enough to be the first press photographer to ride in Google’s new self-driving car. I found the joyride thrilling, even though I was concentrating more on photographing Mail On Sunday reporter Caroline Graham as we whizzed around a test track at Google’s headquarters.
Mail On Sunday (UK) August 31, 2014. Pages 44 and 45.
Mail On Sunday reporter Caroline Graham was the first international journalist to ride in Google’s self driving car.
Look, no hands.
We also met legendary Google fellow and all-round nice guy Ben Gomes. Employee #46 and head of Google Search, Ben joked that when he first started with the small company, bosses Larry Page and Sergey Brin thought it would be funny for him to share an office with three other staff members named Ben. Google now employs over fifty thousand people internationally.
